Fiesta Art Fair

The Fiesta Arts Fair is a fundraiser for the Southwest School of Art and Craft. They charge an application fee, modest booth fees, and a gate fee. The fair helps support the activities of the school that don’t make money, like an education program for the local schools. The School is based in San Antonio Texas, which is a delightful town. The river walk isn’t to be missed. I spent roughly an hour last night wandering the paths looking at the lights for Christmas, the water, and the trees. It really is beautiful. I wish that I’d had my proper camera to take some shots.

The school is located on an old cloistered convent that was also a school. The grounds are amazing and reckoned to be a local landmark. The school has a wonderful cloister with a fountain in the middle.

They have a de-consecrated chapel that they hold events in. It is a beautiful space that would be fabulous for almost any gathering. I’m told that it is often booked three years out.

I couldn’t get any good shots of the interior with the exception of some of the stained glass.

I was at the facility to help with their first ZAPP jury which went very well. The ZAPP system continues to increase the number of artists and event participating boasting well over 70,000 works of art in its database.

Onwards.
