Tree
Well, its that time of the year. Normally we don't put up our Christmas tree until a few days before Christmas. With a new addition to the family who is five, well...with a long weekend for lots of quality time, we put up the tree tonight.
Sony DCR-HC32 Handycam
My wife and I bought ourselves an early Christmas present--the only big one for us this year--a camcorder. What with having a daughter who will be having her first Christmas with us, we decided it was time. We purchased a DCR-HC32.
It is extraordinarily easy to use, has great anti-shake, 20x zoom, and is TINY. These were all features that we wanted. I want to be able to slip a recorder in my pocket if we're sight seeing.

I have one huge gripe, which might well send it back to the store. So far I can't get it to import to my iMac. The iMac recognizes its there and even will display a blue screen that reads "Camera Playing" when it is playing. I should not have to jump through hoops to get it to recognize correctly.
I decided to search the Web and came up with solutions as outlandish as "Start up GarageBand and play a few notes, that worked for me". I am ashamed to say I tried it...
If in the next day or two I haven't figured things out, back it goes. I have two weeks to decide.
